General
Q: Who should I contact regarding . . . ?
A: See our

questions related to any of our service areas can be directly
addressed.
Q: Where are you located?
A: Our main office is located in Puyallup, Washington. Refer to the Location
page for directions coming from Tacoma or Seatac. All
engineering work in performed in Puyallup. For Consulting work,
we frequently perform work on site or at our client's chosen
office.
Q: Are you hiring?
A: We are always looking for qualified personnel in all three
divisions, but do not always have positions available. Please
email a resume or CV to the email address on the Contact
page.
Claims Consulting and Expert Testimony
Q: Where can I find a list of Alta Cascade's project experience?
A: Given the confidentiality of most assignments, we cannot
publish this list on the website. Specific project experience is
listed in an individual's CV, which is conveyed upon request
pursuant to performing services.
Q: What differentiates the Consulting division of Alta
Cascade
from the Engineering division?
A: The Consulting division work does not require professional
engineering and stamping of a design drawing as required by traditional engineering
efforts, but the skill sets used are similar. Consulting work
largely includes construction projects, project controls and
claims work whereas Engineering is design-based.
Q: What areas of expertise does Alta Cascade personnel possess?
A: We are highly qualified in performing CPM schedule delay
and productivity analyses and can testify on such matters. We
are proficient at P3 (Primavera Project Planner), P5, P6,
SureTrak and Microsoft Project
having supported counsel on many claims in the heavy civil,
power, building and transportation arenas. For matters outside
of our specific experience, we have good business relationships with
other experts and will refer you to them directly or work in
conjunction with them to meet your needs.
Engineering
Q: What types of engineering services do you provide?
A: We offer general civil engineering design services.
Specifically, we can design both sanitary and stormwater sewers,
open channel flow systems, streets, highways and retaining walls
under 4' high.
Additionally, our personnel have experience in preparing traffic
and transportation studies, corridor studies and other financing
feasibility studies.
Q: How extensive is your experience in working with public
agencies?
A: Alta Cascade personnel have extensive experience in working
with public agencies and state DOTs. Much of our present work is
with private developers and land owners in preparing designs
that meet county and city requirements for permitting.
Q: What is Alta Cascade's role in the short platting
process?
A: We use surveyor's prepared plan sheets to design a
feasible stormwater drainage system for submittal to the city or
county. We coordinate with authorizing agencies in getting the
design approved. Typically, this is an iterative process.
Construction and Construction Management
Q: Does Alta Cascade perform any construction work?
A: No. We sold our construction division in early January
2006. We previously built custom homes, standard spec homes,
residential additions and all of the
infrastructure requirements related to it (e.g., utility
connections, roadway, sidewalk, curb and gutter) under the name
Alta Engineering, Construction and Consulting, Inc. We changed
the name to Alta Cascade, Inc. after selling off the
construction division.
Q. What construction management services are offered.
A. Construction Management services offered includes CPM scheduling, permitting, change order preparation
and negotiations, claims preparation or evaluation and other contract administration work. These
services are provided during the execution stage of a
construction project.
