The following list represents a small sampling of project experience of Alta Cascade personnel.  Confidentiality agreements preclude listing of many projects.

Transportation (Bridges / Highway / Rail / Airports)

  • Self-Anchored Suspension Bridge Project, San Francisco-Oakland Bay Area, California: Retained by the contractor: Preparation of the cost and resource-loaded baseline CPM schedule using P3 e/c v. 5 (P5) software. The baseline schedule integrates schedules for more than 40 different suppliers and subcontractors over a 7-year period.  

 

  • Design/Build Freeway Project, Utah: Acting as the construction manager: Evaluated and negotiated contractor change orders, monitored contractor progress and compliance with performance specifications, administered the contract. 

 

  • Port of Seattle, Seattle, WA: Served as the Port's on-call claims consultant jointly with Jewell and Associates. Evaluated contractor claims related to the Central Terminal Construction project at Seatac International Airport.

 

  •  Tsing Ma Bridge, Combined Highway and Railway Suspension Bridge, Hong Kong:  Retained by the government agency owner: Analyzed CPM schedules, performed schedule delay analyses including causation and assignment of responsibility.

 

  • Sky Train Elevated Rail Transit Extension Project, Vancouver, B.C.: Retained by the contractor joint venture: Performed productivity measurement modeling in determining inefficiency cost impacts for disrupted construction sequencing and equipment logistics.  

 

 

Process / Desalination

  • Water Desalination Processing Plant, California: Retained by the owner: Performed delay and causation analysis and validation of contractor claims for delay damages.

 

  • Water Well Field Project, Texas:  Retained by construction manager: Performed schedule delay analysis and presented results to public water utility.  

 

  • Pharmaceutical Plant, Singapore: Retained by the designer/engineering company: Determined cause and effect of alleged design defects upon planned construction schedule.  Performed cumulative impact claim. 

 

  • Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) Projects: Argentina, Holland and Spain: Retained by the contractor. Analyzed CPM schedules, preformed schedule delay analyses including causation and assignment of responsibility; assisted in preparing expert report. 

 

 

Power Plants

  • Cogeneration Power Plant, Alaska, USA: Retained by the owner: Performed delay analysis using P3 software, and provided rebuttal to schedule delay claim submitted by contractor. 

 

  • Co-Gen Power Plant, Northeast, USA: Retained by the contractor: Performed CPM scheduling, delay and disruption analyses, assisted in cumulative impact analysis and preparation of an expert report and subsequent litigation support for a large claim. 

 

  • Combined Cycle Power Plant, Saudi Arabia: Retained by the contractor: Performed schedule and productivity analyses, and assisted in preparation of final report. 

 

  • Valorsul, Waste to Energy Power Plant, Portugal: Retained by the contractor: Determined root causes for experienced delay and cost overruns and prepared expert report. 

 

  • Merilectrica, Simple Cycle Power Plant, Columbia: Retained by the owner: Performed delay and productivity analyses, assisted in preparation of an expert report and supported counsel throughout litigation. 

 

 

Oil & Gas / Refineries

 

  • Hydrogen Plant, North America: Retained by the contractor: Reviewed and updated active CPM schedule from bulk to systems installation detail including Level 4, pre-commissioning activities.  Evaluated acceleration scenarios for potential early completion.

 

  • Off-Shore Oil Platform and Power Plant, Gulf of Mexico, Mexico: Retained by the contractor: Performed disruption, cumulative impact and cost analyses in assisting contractor prepare a claim against the owner.

 

  • C5/C6 Isomerisation Complex, South America: Retained by the contractor: Performed a delay analysis and prepared a claim for time and related damages. 

 

  • Natural Gas Pipeline, Bolivia: Retained by the contractor. Analyzed CMP schedules, performed schedule delay analyses and productivity analysis

 

 

Buildings / Hotels

  • Building Construction and Drainage Defects Claim, Western Washington: Retained by counsel / bonding company: Provided root cause analysis, expert report and testimony on alleged site drainage and construction defects on a 74-unit condominium complex. 

 

  • Earthwork and Infrastructure Demolition Project, Colorado: Retained by the construction manager: Cost verification with Harris & Associates, P.C., of a large demolition and earthwork project where more than 40 government buildings were demolished and their concrete foundations were removed. 

 

  • Seattle University, Seattle, Washington: Retained by counsel / bonding company: Performed causation and responsibility analysis for flooding of three buildings at Seattle University. 

 

  • Washoe County School District, Reno, NV: Retained by the architect: Assisted in validating CPM schedules and reported progress for construction of two large high schools. 

 

  • Regent Las Vegas Resort, Casino and Spa, Las Vegas, NV: Retained by the owner: Performed delay and productivity analyses for expert report.

 

 

Communications

 

  • Fiber Optic Cable Installation, Northern California:  Retained by the contractor. Conducted delay analysis, analyzed change orders and prepared expert report in support for litigation.

 

  • Fiber Optic Cable Design and Installation, Northwest, USA: Retained by the designer. Performed delay and productivity analyses, quantified damages for owner-attributable impacts. 

 

  • Williams Communications (presently WilTel), CA, MA, PA: Retained by the contractor: Performed schedule delay and causation analyses on three different fiber optic installation projects throughout the United States.

 

 

Engineering
